get that bread (together with our parent, subsidiaries, and affiliates, and our and their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, consultants, contractors, and service providers acting on our behalf — collectively, “get that bread”, “we”, “us”, or “the Platform”) operates a reward-based crowdfunding marketplace at getthatbread.sg in Singapore. References to “we” in clauses granting rights, disclaiming liability, or accepting indemnities benefit each of these parties. By accessing or using get that bread, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
The following definitions apply throughout these Terms and all incorporated documents:
get that bread is a technology marketplace that connects Creators and Backers. We are not a seller, manufacturer, retailer, or fulfiller of any goods, services, or rewards. We do not produce, store, ship, or guarantee any reward offered in a Campaign.
What we are not.We are not a guarantor of Creator performance, an insurer of Backer pledges, an agent or partner of any Creator, a fiduciary to any party, or a co-obligor for any Creator's obligations. Creators are independent third parties. There is no employment, agency, partnership, joint venture, or fiduciary relationship between get that bread and any Creator.
No fiduciary or trust relationship — including for held funds. The mechanism through which Pledge funds are held pending milestone release is a payment intermediary arrangement only. It does not create a trust, fiduciary relationship, or duty of loyalty toward any party. Pledge funds are held by Stripe, our licensed payment partner, pursuant to these Terms, pending the applicable trigger for release, refund, or dispute resolution.
No warranty on Creators. We do not represent or warrant that any Creator is trustworthy, capable, or financially sound; that any Campaign description is accurate or complete; that any Creator will deliver the rewards they have promised; or that identity verification of a Creator guarantees their ongoing conduct, credentials, or solvency.
Pre-launch review is not an endorsement. Our review of campaigns before they go live is a screening exercise against our published policies. It does not constitute an audit, endorsement, or commitment to ongoing monitoring of any Campaign or Creator. Approval does not mean we vouch for the Creator or their project.
You must meet the following requirements to use get that bread:
We may require identity verification (“KYC”) before approving a Campaign or releasing funds. Completing KYC confirms your identity at the time of verification only — it is not a guarantee of your ongoing eligibility, the accuracy of your representations, or the quality of your conduct on the Platform. We reserve the right to re-verify identity at any time and to suspend or reject Campaigns where our verification requirements are not met.
If you do not cooperate with a re-verification request. Where we make a reasonable request to re-verify your identity and you do not cooperate within 14 daysof our written request, we may (a) suspend access to your account, (b) withhold or reverse any pending payouts pending verification, and (c) ultimately close your account in accordance with Section 10. Refusal to cooperate with a re-verification request is treated as a material breach of these Terms.
As a Creator launching a Campaign on get that bread, you are solely and exclusively responsible for your Campaign and agree to:
Payout conditions.Payouts are subject to milestone approval and a hold period of up to 14 days (typically 7–10 business days), to guard against chargebacks and allow time for any disputes to be raised. We may withhold, suspend, or offset any payout if: (a) we have reasonable grounds to believe you have breached these Terms; (b) a dispute, investigation, or chargeback relating to your Campaign is pending; or (c) required by law or our payment processors. We are not liable for losses arising from a legitimate exercise of these rights.
By accepting these Terms, Creators also accept the indemnification obligations set out in Section 15.
As a Backer pledging to a Campaign, you agree that:
As a Backer, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless get that bread, its directors, officers, employees, and service providers from and against any claim, demand, loss, liability, damage, cost, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or in connection with:
This indemnity is narrower than the Creator Indemnity in Section 15 — it covers only conduct that is unlawful, in bad faith, or in breach of these Terms, and does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer or your rights to bring a legitimate dispute under the Refund & Dispute Policy.
Recovery authorisation. You authorise get that bread and our payment processor (Stripe) to charge any payment method you have stored with us, up to the amount of any chargeback determined to be without reasonable basis, any liability you incur under this Indemnity, and any reasonable costs associated with recovery (including chargeback handling fees passed through by Stripe). We will give you written notice before any such charge and will not charge for any amount actively disputed in good faith through our dispute process. This authorisation is in addition to any rights we have at law to recover sums owed.
get that bread operates a milestone-based release model:
Release schedule.Funds from a successfully funded Campaign are released to the Creator’s connected Stripe account in three milestone tranches on a 40% / 40% / 20% split. The default proof-of-progress required at each milestone is shown below for physical-product Campaigns. For Campaigns in other categories — including software, games, music, film, publishing, events, and services — an equivalent proof schedule is agreed with the Creator at Campaign approval and recorded on the Campaign page. Across all categories, the milestone gates remain preparation, production, and delivery.
Each tranche is net of the 5% platform fee (see Section 8).
Proof timelines. Unless a different schedule is agreed and recorded on the Campaign page at approval, the Creator must submit acceptable proof for each milestone within the following windows, measured from the immediately preceding event:
A Creator who has gone silent — defined as no substantive Campaign update or response to Backer or Platform messages for 90 consecutive days — is treated as having missed the next milestone, regardless of which window is currently open. In any of these cases, the held funds may be refunded to Backers in accordance with the Refund & Dispute Policy. We may grant a reasonable extension on written request where the Creator demonstrates the delay is in good faith and outside their reasonable control.
The specific circumstances under which refunds are granted, the dispute process, timelines, and refund amounts are governed exclusively by the Refund & Dispute Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
get that bread charges a 5% platform fee on the total amount raised by successfully funded Campaigns. This fee is deducted before funds are transferred to the Creator via Stripe Connect. No fee applies to Campaigns that do not reach their goal.
Standard payment processing is included.Stripe's standard payment processing fees on Backer transactions are absorbed within our 5% platform fee. Creators are not charged separately for standard processing. Where a transaction incurs non-standard fees — for example, cross-border card surcharges, currency conversion on international cards, chargeback handling fees, or third-party tax or regulatory fees — those fees may be passed through to the relevant party at cost.
The following types of campaigns, content, or conduct are strictly prohibited on get that bread:
We reserve the right to remove any Campaign or content where we reasonably believe a violation of these Terms has occurred, with notice to the affected user wherever practicable.
All Campaigns are subject to admin review before going live. We reserve the right to:
Our admin review is a pre-publication screening exercise only and does not constitute an ongoing obligation to monitor campaigns post-launch. If a Campaign is removed, we will endeavour to notify the Creator by email. We will use reasonable endeavours to process refunds of outstanding Pledges to Backers in respect of a removed Campaign.
Held funds on Platform-initiated termination. If we remove a Campaign or terminate a Creator's account while Pledges are in the Authorised, Captured, or Held state, the funds will be handled as follows:
Reasons for action. Where we take action under this Section against an account, Campaign, or Pledge, we will, where practicable, tell the affected user in writing what action we took and the substantive reason for it, and (where appropriate) how they may remedy the issue. We may decline to provide reasons, or limit the detail we provide, where doing so would (a) compromise an ongoing investigation, (b) reveal confidential information about a third party, (c) put any person at risk, or (d) be prohibited by law or by an instruction from a regulatory or law-enforcement authority. Where we cannot give full reasons up-front, we will share what we can disclose and indicate the general category of concern.
You may close your account at any time by emailing hello@getthatbread.sg from the address registered to your account, or via the account-deletion option in your dashboard.
If you have no active Pledges or Campaigns— your account is closed within 5 business days. Personal data is anonymised or deleted within 30 days, subject to Section 9 of the Privacy Policy (records we are legally required to retain).
If you are a Backer with active Captured or Held Pledges— your account is closed for new activity, but pledges remain in place until the relevant Campaign concludes or refunds in accordance with the Refund & Dispute Policy. We will continue to send transactional notices about those pledges to your email address until each is finalised.
If you are a Creator with a live Campaign — you may not close your account while a Campaign is in fundraising or fulfilment. To exit, you must first either:
Account closure does not waive any rights or remedies either party may have for events occurring before closure.
By uploading content to get that bread (including images, descriptions, and videos), you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, reproduce, and use that content for the purposes of operating the Platform, publishing your Campaign, and promoting the Platform generally to prospective Creators and Backers. You retain ownership of your content.
You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to all content you upload, and that such content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights. You are solely responsible for any claim arising from content you upload.
Survival on account closure. The licence above remains in force only while the relevant content is displayed on the Platform. Following account closure or removal of a Campaign, the licence narrows so that we may continue to (a) retain copies for legal, regulatory, audit, or dispute purposes, (b) display historical references to the Campaign (such as in transaction records or completed-campaign archives), and (c) use anonymised or aggregated derivatives. We will cease active promotional use of your content within a reasonable period after closure.
Reporting intellectual-property infringement. If you believe content on the Platform infringes your copyright, trade mark, or other intellectual-property rights, please send a written notice to hello@getthatbread.sg containing:
We will assess the notice in line with the Copyright Act 2021 and other applicable Singapore law, may remove or restrict access to the content while we do so, and may forward the notice to the user who uploaded the content. Repeat infringers will be suspended or banned. Submitting a notice that you know to be false may result in liability under applicable law.
The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by Singapore law, get that bread makes no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to:
Use of the Platform is at your own risk. Nothing in this section limits any rights you may have under applicable Singapore consumer protection law that cannot be excluded by contract.
To the maximum extent permitted by Singapore law, get that bread is not liable for:
Liability cap. For claims relating to Pledges, refunds, or disputes, the specific liability provisions in our Refund & Dispute Policy apply and prevail. For all other claims, our aggregate liability to you shall not exceed the greatest of:
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for our own fraud, wilful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be excluded by Singapore law.
As a Creator, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless get that bread, its directors, officers, employees, and service providers from and against any claim, demand, loss, liability, damage, cost, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or in connection with:
This indemnity survives termination of your use of the Platform.
We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform our obligations under these Terms where such delay or failure arises from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, fire, flood, earthquake, government action, regulatory change, pandemic or epidemic, telecommunications or internet outage, power failure, or failure of a third-party service provider (including payment processors). We will notify you as soon as reasonably practicable and endeavour to resume performance when circumstances permit.
Your use of get that bread is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Platform, you consent to our collection and use of your data as described in the Privacy Policy, in accordance with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).
Roles for Backer fulfilment data. When a Creator receives Backer personal data from us for fulfilment purposes (for example, shipping addresses), the Creator becomes an organisation in its own right under the PDPA in respect of that data and is responsible for collecting, using, storing, and disposing of it in compliance with the PDPA. Each of us is responsible for our own PDPA compliance within our respective scope of control: get that bread for the data we collect and process on the Platform, and the Creator for the data they hold and process within their own systems and processes. To the maximum extent permitted by the PDPA, get that bread is not liable for a Creator's independent acts or omissions in handling Backer personal data after it has been provided to them, but this does not limit our own obligations as an organisation under the PDPA. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
If we cease operations — whether voluntarily, through corporate restructuring, or due to insolvency — we will use reasonable endeavours to ensure that:
Where wind-down arises from insolvency, our actions will be subject to applicable insolvency law and the directions of any appointed liquidator, judicial manager, or trustee. Backers and Creators with claims in such circumstances should refer to the Insolvency, Restructuring and Dissolution Act 2018.
The treatment of Held Pledge funds during wind-down is governed by the relationship between Stripe (the licensed payment institution holding the funds) and any insolvency officer, and is subject to the no-fiduciary position set out in Section 2.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by email or by posting a notice on the Platform at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Material changes will not apply retroactively to Campaigns that have already reached their funding goal.
How acceptance works. For non-material changes (for example, clarifications, typographical corrections, or updates to contact details), your continued use of the Platform after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance. For material changes— including changes to fees, refund rights, dispute process, liability, indemnities, or governing law — we will additionally require you to actively accept the updated Terms (for example, via a click-through prompt on next login or next checkout) before you can continue creating new Campaigns, making new Pledges, or receiving payouts. If you do not accept, you may close your account in accordance with Section 11.
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable under Singapore law, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
Waiver. Our failure or delay in exercising any right or enforcing any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision, nor prevent future exercise of it.
Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the Refund & Dispute Policy (both incorporated by reference), constitute the entire agreement between you and get that bread relating to your use of the Platform and supersede any prior communications, representations, or agreements on the same subject matter.
No third-party beneficiaries. Nothing in these Terms creates any right or benefit for any person who is not a party to these Terms. For the avoidance of doubt, the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 2001 does not apply to these Terms.
Payment processor terms. When you make a Pledge, receive a Payout, or otherwise interact with Stripe (our payment processor) through the Platform, you are also entering into a direct agreement with Stripe and agree to be bound by the Stripe Services Agreement and any other Stripe terms applicable to you (including, for Creators, the Stripe Connected Account Agreement). Where any conflict exists between these Terms and Stripe's terms in respect of services Stripe provides, Stripe's terms govern the Stripe-provided services.
Assignment. You may not assign, transfer, or sub-contract any of your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign or transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to (a) an affiliate, (b) a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganisation, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, or (c) any other party where the assignment does not materially reduce your rights under these Terms. We will give you reasonable notice of any such assignment.
Electronic communications and notices. You consent to receive communications and notices from us electronically — by email to the address on your account, by in-product notice, or by posting on the Platform — and you agree that electronic communications satisfy any legal requirement that a communication be in writing. This consent is given for the purposes of the Electronic Transactions Act 2010 and any other applicable law. You are responsible for keeping your account email address current.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore.
Before commencing legal proceedings, we ask that you first attempt to resolve any dispute with us by contacting hello@getthatbread.sg and allowing 30 days for good-faith resolution. If unresolved, either party may refer the dispute to mediation administered by the Singapore Mediation Centre before commencing court proceedings. Nothing in this clause prevents a party from seeking urgent interim relief from a court.
Any proceedings not resolved by the above process shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
Nothing in this clause prevents eligible consumers from bringing a claim before the Small Claims Tribunal or from exercising any rights available under applicable Singapore consumer protection law.
If you have questions about these Terms or wish to report a violation, please contact us at: hello@getthatbread.sg
